Goldman Sachs: Digital transformation.

The Brief

Goldman Sachs’ Investment Research division provides original insight and analysis for clients in the equity, fixed income, currency and commodities markets. This research is an incredibly valuable differentiator for Goldman Sachs, however the team lacked clear understanding of how the research was being consumed by its audience. Goldman’s audience comprises extremely high net-worth individuals who consume content through a vast array of different devices and channels, including, mobile, tablets, wearables, web, apps, email and social. Goldman Sachs briefed Somo to create and execute a digital transformation strategy, with the goal of mobilising the bank’s research, data and content. This in turn would make it accessible to a wide range of users on the move, and integrate seamlessly with the bank’s existing systems.
The Solution

Somo worked collaboratively with the internal Goldman Sachs teams to understand the end users and market drivers for the research division. This allowed Somo to create a strategic framework, brand identity, product roadmap and then deliver the roadmap for the client.
The Results

What started out as a simple 8 week project to develop mobile optimised reports has developed into a full digital transformation strategy and product roadmap. Currently in the second year of the roadmap, Somo is seen as a trusted innovation partner for Goldman Sachs. Somo’s agility and innovation is in such high regard within the bank, it is continually being requested to support in other areas of the business globally, including events, internal communications and sales efforts.
